Me at the 1Million for ObiDatti, Bauchi

It is so close to Elections, and I am fully engaged, and campaigning for my choice candidate.

I am also actively involved in politics, because like my friend, Ballie says, even if you are not interested in politics, politics is interested in you.

I am a firm believer that everyone, especially Christians should participate in politics.

Contest for offices. Campaign for candidates you believe in. Vote, and be voted for.

Politics runs our World in Nigeria, whether we admit it or yes. Policies made by politicians can either make or mar our lives.

Nigeria is as backwards as it is right now because of the people we have in power.

I believe every election cycle is a building block.

I believe for every time we stand up for what we believe to be right, we build a better society for our generations unborn.

I believe in the past, present, and future of Nigeria.

I believe in not being a bystander, but actively participating.

This year, I have gotten a lot of rejection mails, but three stood out the most, and hurt the most. I cried over one for over a week.

I didn’t get jobs I am fully qualified for because I am a Nigerian living in Nigeria.

The other was because I am still in school.

I started my degree in 2018, I should be rounding up early next year, at the most. My school ID card expires next (this year? not sure).

I started 300 level in January, one month in, we started the now 8 months strike.

I have not spent a full year in school since I started years ago.

Politics is interested in me.

I have had days I hated Nigeria.

I joke a lot about fighting my Guardian Angel for dropping me in Nigeria.

But, I believe in Nigeria.

I know we will win.

Maybe not today.

Maybe not now.

But eventually.

I believe it.

For this election cycle, I am voting for Peter Obi.

If he flops, please, drag me with your full chest.

I will take my L, and campaign for the next person I believe in.

For Nigeria, just like my job applications, I will keep trying, till a win comes.

In the words of Cordi Varo at GHM today, “We will always play our part, and I know there are people staying up all night to ensure our parts don’t count, so we talk to the Creator of it all. We believe in Nigeria; we have faith in her future. And in days when we lose faith, we pray, God, help our unbelief.”
